What kind of person are you as a Production Manager?

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of operational processes at the site. You will report to the Plant Manager at our Dutch facility and serve as the point of contact for your team and on-site stakeholders. The current team consists of approximately 14 people and is growing.

What will you do?

As a Production Manager, you will have a broad role focused on production, safety, and team leadership. Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will manage the team at the terminal and ensure a safe, healthy, and motivating work environment.
  • You manage people and resources responsibly, with a focus on efficiency, care, and future-proofing.
    You are expected to spend approximately 50% of your time in the office and 50% on-site.
  • You will oversee our production capacity, scheduling, and product quality.
  • You will create the production and staffing schedules and coordinate them internally.
  • You will coordinate maintenance work on systems, machinery, and rolling stock.
  • You will ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and certification standards.
  • You regularly hold toolbox meetings in collaboration with a colleague from Amsterdam.
  • You maintain good relations with the businesses in the immediate vicinity of the site.
  • You will assist in maintaining contact with local governments and relevant authorities in Belgium.
  • You will be involved in the recruitment, onboarding, and management of employee sick leave.
  • You will manage day-to-day purchasing and monitor costs and inventory at the branch.
  • You maintain a visible presence on the work floor and combine leadership with a practical, hands-on approach.

What are you bringing?

We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:

  • Completed a technical secondary education program (preferably in electromechanics, civil engineering, or logistics) or possess equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a production or terminal environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and maintenance processes.
  • Organizational skills and a communicative, no-nonsense style.
  • Independence, reliability, and a solution-oriented mindset.
