Harvesting under war conditions

Despite the current war conditions, Bontrup remains active in Ukraine. Because our own elevator is constantly being shelled, we are renting external storage space at the Shostka elevator to secure this year's harvest.

This season we have grown 3,600 acres of sunflowers. The expected yield is 2.6 tons per hectare. First results: 3.15 tons per hectare!

Most of our sunflower seeds are sold directly to oil mills, supporting both the local economy and food security in Ukraine.

Next steps: harvest soybeans immediately after sunflowers, followed by corn.

We are proud of the resilience and dedication of our team to continue farming under these extremely challenging conditions.
