New railway lines Maasvlakte 2 Rotterdam

Bontrup supplied railway ballast to the BAVO consortium, a joint venture between BAM and VolkerWessels, for the construction of the new rail infrastructure at Maasvlakte 2. The railway works are essential for the accessibility of the new container terminals in the port of Rotterdam.
The stone was transported directly from the quarries and processed and washed on site to ensure that it met the strict quality requirements for railway ballast in a heavily loaded port environment.
