Coastal protection Marshall Islands

For the island of Ebeye in the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, Bontrup Logistics supplied approximately 80,000 tons of armour rock for the new seawall constructed by Hall Contracting. The project includes the construction of an approximately 1.8 km long protection against wave overtopping and coastal erosion.

The armourstone (up to a grade of 3/6T) was produced by Bontrups partner Stevin Rock in Ras al Khaimah. The rock was then transported by the mv Bontrup Pearl vessel to the Marshall Islands, a journey of about 30 days, and transferred ship-to-ship in deep water onto customer barges, which then brought the rocks ashore.
