Greenbase - Wetterskip dikes

From 2011 to 2016, Wetterskip Fryslân had those buoy embankments constructed at the Alde Rien (Sneek), the eastern quay of the canal to Heerenveen and along the banks of the Hooivaart De Deelen. Executed by Van der Wiel and others, more than 140,000 tons of Greenbase, delivered by barge from Graniet Import Amsterdam. Greenbase was applied in the core of the dike and as an impermeable layer and then covered by a living layer with vegetation.
