Granite Import Benelux: new unloading conveyor increases capacity
With the expansion of 4.3 hectares of land on the banks of the Aziëhaven, Graniet Import Benelux B.V. is creating additional capacity for the storage of Bestone® Scottish granite at Amerikahavenweg 1b. These raw materials are further processed at GIB at Amerikahavenweg 2.
The company equipped the new terminal with a 30-meter-high ship unloading installation consisting of a total of 150 meters of unloading and swivel belt with a transport capacity of 4,500 tons aggregates hour. The on-site storage capacity is 150,000 tons. Bontrup self-unloading bulk carriers Bontrup around 55,000 tons per visit to the Port of Amsterdam.
The entire project from foundations to operational completion project was carried out by ButeX BV. The installation was carried out with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, accessibility, and ease of maintenance. Jeroen Sala and plant manager Harm Kruize were involved in the project on behalf of Bontrup Graniet Import Benelux B.V., respectively.
