Construction Invergordon Service Base - Scotland

For the expansion of the Invergordon Service Base - a major hub of the Port of Cromarty Firth for the offshore wind, oil & gas sector - Bontrup Logistics supplied more than 200,000 tons of Widegrade® for the revetment bund around the new land reclamation.

The Widegrade® was discharged by self-unloading belt vessels directly onto site. The crushed stone was used for the construction of the revetment bund surrounding the new land reclamation. Widegrade®'s wide, continuous grading makes it stable under flow and wave loads while it forms a sand-closed granular filter. This allows fine backfill material to be placed directly behind it without the need for geotextile filters.

With this delivery, Bontrup supported the further development of Invergordon as a strategic, future-proof service and logistics base for the offshore energy sector.
