Widegrade®

Widegrade® is a wide grade of crushed natural stone sourced from Bremanger Quarry. With a maximum size of approximately 200mm, this product is efficient and durable to produce and transport. Ideal for large structures, deep water and hard to reach locations.

Widegrade® forms a stable core for breakwaters, dams and caisson foundations. This has been extensively researched by Bontrup, including physical scale model tests. This makes it a proven alternative to traditional 'quarry run'.

Thanks to its wide grading, Widegrade® acts as a natural filter between sand and larger stone, making synthetic geotextiles unnecessary. The product is widely used in breakwaters, under caissons and as bank protection.
