Natural power from stone
Bestone® stone flour is a sustainable, mineral-rich product made from finely ground natural stone. It is produced at Graniet Import Amsterdam, enabling efficient, low-footprint use in nature-restoration and agricultural projects across the Netherlands.
Soil improver
The product was developed as a natural soil conditioner for both agriculture and nature management. Its fine grain structure releases minerals gradually, nourishing the soil, buffering acidity and supporting the recovery of soil life and ecosystem.
Essential minerals
Bestone® stone flour contains essential minerals — such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and various trace elements — which contribute to a healthy soil structure and help restore soil acidified by excessive nitrogen deposition

National Park The Hoge Veluwe
An extensive independent study by the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED) at the University of Amsterdam (2023), conducted on acidified soil of the Hoge Veluwe National Park, confirms the following about Bestone® stone flour:
- It buffers the soil pH effectively;
- It supplies valuable (micro)nutrients such as Ca, Mg and K
- It releases minerals both on short and long-term due to the variation in fineness
- It contains no harmful heavy metals and can be safely applied
- It performs similarly to — or better than — currently used commercial stone flours.
In natural areas, Bestone® is currently being tested in collaboration with 'Staatsbosbeheer' (the Dutch Forestry Commission) and other partners on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. These laboratory and field trials are showing very promising results for restoring acidified soils and rebuilding mineral buffer capacity.
Officially SKAL and FiBL certified
Bestone® stone flour is officially SKAL- and FiBL-certified for use in organic agriculture (EU Regulations 2018/848 and 2021/1165) and included on the Dutch Input List.
