The foundation for sustainable infrastructure
A load-bearing foundation, or sub-base layer under port terminals, roads and railway lines is crucial for the stability, strength and service life of any structure. Bremanger sub-base, produced in Bremanger Quarry, is a high-quality, crushed natural stone with a continuous grain size distribution ranging from 0/31.5 to 0/63, or custom-made grades as requested by customer or country-specific standards. For example, large quantities of Bremanger sub-base Type 1 have been used in England.

Rigid and load-bearing
Due to its high strength, wear resistance and homogeneity, Bremanger sub-base forms a rigid and load-bearing foundation, The angular grain shape and controlled grading ensure optimal compactability, high stiffness and excellent water drainage. The product has been widely used, both in unbound and (cement-)bound applications, as sub-base but also as unbound pavement on heavily loaded terminals.
Extensively tested
Bremanger sub-base is manufactured in accordance with EN standards (or equivalent) and has been extensively tested. It meets the strictest quality requirements for hardness and wear resistance, is not frost sensitive and has good water permeability.

International projects
The product has proven itself in leading international projects such as container terminals in Rotterdam, Antwerp, Tangier Med (Morocco), Le Havre and Tilbury in the United Kingdom.

Bremanger sub-base: natural quality combined with sustainable delivery - a solid foundation for any infrastructure project.
