0/32 to construct surface layer with MBS

For the construction of the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine manufacturing plant, BONTRUP delivered 0/32 material for her customers Eurovia, Tinel and Eiffage, in cooperation with MBS. The material is used to construct the (unbound) surface layer for the new 13 hectare terminal at the Joannes Couvert quay in Le Havre. The rock product, sourced from Bremanger Quarry, was delivered via belt unloading bulk carriers straight onto the project site. Our MBS partner Thomas Autant comments.

BONTRUP has proven to be a reliable partner in the supply of rock materials.
They have delivered consistent quality material, and were always open to find logistical solutions in complex situations”

63/180 to construct foundation layer of quay with DEME

For the construction of the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine manufacturing plant, BONTRUP delivered the quay foundation material for her customer DEME.

The 63/180mm offshore grading is manufactured in Bremanger Quarry, and placed in a 4-8 meter thick foundation layer in front of the Joannes Couvert Quay in Le Havre, for the future mooring of large offshore Jack-up crane vessels. The material is placed directly from the BONTRUP supply vessel, using the ship conveyor belt in a continuous swing motion, while the vessel was shifting positions in accordance with a pre-determined pattern. The placement of the rock was planned and executed in close cooperation with DEME and their survey department. DEME’s project manager Charlotte Heirbaut commented:

We were very happy with the way it all worked out. Professional crew, good planning and precise dumping”
