Together with your colleagues Vessel Operators and Super Intendents working in the field, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the vessels. You make sure that the voyages, loading and discharges go according to plan. Of course, you keep an eye on safety and efficiency and make sure that we are compliant with (local) requirements and international regulations.
You will be communicating with the vessels, port agents, charterers, and our (technical) colleagues.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Communicating with Vessels, Charterers and all third parties involved with the ship operations.
• Voyage instructions.
• Optimizing the voyage with regards to speed/arrival times and bunker consumption.
• Seeking best prices/ports for bunkers, placing bunker order and notify vessels/agents.
• Compare budget vs actual voyage result.
Provide the charterers with the relevant documents related to the commercial process
Your Background/ Qualifications:
• Experience in an international environment in vessel operations, chartering or similar position preferred (2-3 years)
• BSc or MSc degree in Shipping (or holder of shipping related qualifications)
• Speaking and writing in English is no problem for you
• Team player, not afraid to ask questions
• You have an eye for detail
